Touching the dark side

So once again I stepped outside of my comfort zone, a little further this time and shooting with Ghetto Geisha (I know her real name, but I'm not telling you!) we picked out somewhere dirty, she whipped out the smudged make up and fake blood and I, the flash and camera and after a bit of mincing around and her trying to keep a straight face whilst I cracked some bad taste jokes, this is what we got...

Doooood shootin!

Today was something a little out of my comfort zone, up and coming DJ man Nathan Cozzetto in an urban setting (what was the local little chef... -sigh-).  Tried something a bit different in places, included some aerial gymnastics on his behalf and some staying on the ground with a wide angle lens on my part... Ahhhh, ground, mmm.

They gave their lives so that we may live ours in freedom

Recently I was asked to cover the memorial service at work, simple laying of the poppy wreaths by veterans and executives alike.  I obviously said yes, having personal links to the whole affair through various family history always makes this so much more poignant.  It's not the style of shooting that I'm particularly efficient in, but sometimes you have to put aside pride and do what's right...  or something else, equally touchy feely.

Viktoria

Viktoria and I had been talking about shooting for ages, personally I think she was waiting until I got better (don't blame her, just amazed that I actually did!).  We hijacked my workplace and ran through some locations/hair colours/outfits and came out with some of my favourite images so far...  Which ain't no bad thing y'all!

Happy Camper

So this shoot was fairly impromptu, I had a friend who wanted to tag along to see what I do (not many people would find what I do educational, so I was on my best behaviour and was pretty flattered...).  We headed into one of the local market towns and came across this camper van, it was so full of character it's made me want to remake the Herbie films but with a camper (and without Lindsay Lohan).  Sadly, we were only shooting there for about 15 minutes when workmen pulled up in their van to dig up the road so we didn't get to abuse it as much as we could...

New, Natural and totally Cool

During the last of the Summer Sun, I had a shoot with the awesome Zoe... One cool, cool lady and one of the shoots that made me look back and see a real step in the right direction in terms to lighting and technique.
