A very quick maths lesson for y'all: Lensbaby + wide angle + Rebecca Tun = Awesomness... Fact! I've been talking with Rebecca about a shoot for ages, circumstance permitting and at last, permitted they did. I'd found a pretty awesome location locally and hoped it would be enough to showcase Rebecca's creative style, also, we lucked out with a break in the winter weather... Bonus!

Lensbaby, baby!
I wanted a change of direction and a spot of new inspiration so I bought a Lensbaby, called on regular favourite GhettoGeisha and planned out an erotic shoot with a candid feel to it. Voila...
I had a girlfiend who looked like a boyfriend
This shoot was in the planning for a while between me and Fleur du Mal (famous for many things, but if you don't know any of them then you should damn well find out!) and we managed to head to a wee studio I know (I know, you don't see many studio shoots from me, it's simple really, they bloody cost!) and try out for some androgyny ... I know what you;re thinking, this is really a guy, right? WRONG!
Ethereality
I had a shoot booked in with this lady, Katherina, whilst the weather was there (literally the only wather that was there... Anybody else annoyed with the state of summer these days? Honestly!) and we headed out to get some casual/ethereal feel shots and just a nice mix. These, kind viewers, are the results.

Grainy Ghetto
Here it is, my first post for a danged long time... Too long! I've been taking some time out to concentrate on the important things in life, such as cutting the lawn and laying on the sofa eating Toblerone cookies and drinking milkshakes. Occasionally, however, I did pop out for a bit of shooting here and there, including another whack with GhettoGeisha and 12,600 ISO...

Grand Puddles
Also from the New Forest... I placed another casting, booked another model and had a location in mind, but it wasn't quite as good as the location I found when I was heading to the station to pick her up... So we used that instead! Although the rain had ruined most of your summers so far, the plus side meant that these road side craters held the winter water well into July and we could hijack them for some shootin'. The model is the completely not fussy about being filthy, wonderful Akira.

Elesha in the Garden of Eden
I took a week out and headed down to catch up with the family on the south coast and whilst I was down there, I booked in a couple of model shoots also. Admittedly, I was two days too early for the damn weather (DAMN WEATHER!!) but on the plus side, I got to meet and shoot the very talented Elesha Eden, only 16 years old and already a better model than I could do justice. Anyway, amongst the rain, the Nazi cows and the killer horses, we managed to squeeze off a few shots and here are some of the results.

The Model, The Mouse and The Derelict House (NSFW)
So, Artemis came down (up and across, but it's only geography) on a tour and I managed to bag me a bit of her time before she went back. I'd just finished the 12 hour shift from hell, she'd been modelling all day and apparently doing more bouncing than a Tigger reunion party, the rain had scuppered my ideas and locations and it was one of those random shoots where everything seemed to rely on plan B... BUT... What a plan B it was, I had a couple of undercover locations and Artemis had a lot of amazing poses and these are some of the results. Now stop checking it out and go and book her for some shootin'!

Boooooodwaaar!
Sooooooooooooooo... I don't know what today was, a shoot, a giggle, a calamity?! In all honesty, I never know what to call it when I work with GhettoGeisha so i'll just stick with calling it a blast! I know she hates me for the crude jokes that mess up her concentration (In a professional fashion, of course) but Jesus does this girl know how to go toe to toe with the lewd remarks! Anyway, the point is we had a shoot, I edited some shots and then posted some here... Voila!

The Dancer at the Derelict
I've had a few let downs recently for one reason or other, it's all a part of the game and usually a case getting back on the horse and running that final furlong, so this is my Grand National. Nothing fancy, just about the only day worth shooting in May (up to that point) and a bit of time around this derelict, which regular readers (pahahaha, as if...) may recognise from elsewhere on the blog, and Alexandra. These are a few shots from the day

Beauty and the Bull
So... I didn't let the shed thing go to my head, I could have done, I was tempted to devote my photography to nothing more than personal storage installations and garden maintenance tools but I though, NO, sort it out man... And I did. Since the weather has been dire lately and I've not been able to book location work, I headed into the studio (thanks Ian) with fantastic local model, Kelly Bull, my, desperate for use, Ring Flash and the keyword beauty... And below is a sample of what I left with.

My Shed is, like, so in Vogue right now
So... After a few submissions from my model photography to Vogue.it (yes, I jumped on that bandwagon) and an equal and opposite number of rejections (sorry, dear reader, but in all honesty we already knew I wasn't very good!) I actually had a submission accepted and I can't figure out why.

Eventually Emma (NSFW)
I suck, I can be so awful with organisation and keeping things up, hence the month's gap which, for you meagre few that follow me, must have felt like an eternity..... <AHEM>... Anyway, I've finally got my ass in gear since I need to get back in the swing so I can abuse my new 70-200mm when it comes in the next couple of days (drool). Until that time, here is one from last month (after a long time of mail ping pong, thanks bad weather...!) from the absolutely Über cool Emma. She grabbed a train, made me put the roof on my car up (on the only day this year that's been worth it) and rocked the show in a wee town I happen to frequent... Apologies to the dude walking on the other side of the river whose neck seemingly refused to turn away when Emma was changing, must have been our fault I guess... Oops.

Tyrannosaurus Bex and the Car Park of Doom (NSFW)
This should hopefully mark something of a new direction (probably more of a tangent, can't keep hanging around car parks at night, folk'll start talking) and something that I had wanted to do for a while. To quote Blackadder "My medium is light" and that's pretty much how I've seen it since I started, adding more light via flashes and reflectors etc, so this time I chose somewhere dark and chose to shoot at night to add to the effect and booked Bex to join me. The darker shots were a combination of low shutter speeds, high ISO and 1 or 2 LED torches as fill lights... The more colourful and illuminated shots were of course my first attempt at Ring Flash, I love it!

Marika's Copse
Not much updating recently thanks to a quiet February and the turmoil of turning 31 -sigh- but I'm back on the wagon and taking bookings again. This was with Marika (like, total joy) in some woods that I've been meaning to shoot at for a while but had the original shoot cancelled many moons ago. Also, completely lucked out with the weather, a little bit of cloud ruined my love for flare later on, but in all it wasn't so bad I guess,

Birthdays...
I may not have been a 20 something for an entire year... But at least that was a year of not being a 30 something. Well, that gap year is officially over and I am now a 30 something with nothing more to look forward to than 8 more years of not being a 40 something! I guess the biggest question would have to be, how do I feel about it? Well, in short, I'll let the picture speak the thousand plus words...

Ghetto's a Good Thing
So, I'm still trying to find my feet in a studio environment (learn by doing, fool!) and I hooked up with many time collaborator GhettoGeisha to have a wee play around one night in the week. I'm not breaking any boundaries yet, but I'm happy with the general direction and getting to play with all new, shiny toys... Awesome!!!!!

Capturing Beauty
This is Amy, she works at the same place as I do and she is one of the most naturally striking girls I have seen... So I asked her to model. Awesomely, she said yes and that she wanted to do a studio shoot (which you'll notice, I don't really do) so I figured that it was about high time I grew the cajones to start and booked us up a couple of hours at Nevermine's studio. After a bit of guess work, a lot of fun and probably the least amount of editing I've ever had to do, these are some of the shots I ended up with and I love them...

I Love My New Camera...
I'd been to this location once before, but the weather was awful, the foliage was aggressive and the motivation was pants! This time round, everything was perfect... Except the foliage which was still unbelievably aggressive. Armed with my gear, our best walking boots (the obligatory pair of vans for me and some high, not very practical, sandals for model Caroline) and a nice flowing dress, this is what we got.

Welcome to 2012
I shot with Emily this time, awesome lady, luckily we were supposed to shoot a more commercial feel anyway and given that even her fake smile was so infectious I don't think I'd have been able to keep a straight enough face to try anything more serious.
